Ghanaians criticize China Mall for paying its employees GH580 per month

China Mall employees receive a gross monthly wage of GH580, or roughly $58.

This has come to light following the company's recent edict telling employees not to skip work.

According to the company's announcement to all employees, any day a worker skips work will be taken from their meager pay.

Edem, the source of this inside knowledge, tweeted:

Employees at China Mall claim

• Are they paid?

580 p/m

• Every day of the month is required for labor.

• Their pay is reduced for any days off.

This has led to a number of internet discussions where many people are criticizing China Mall. Others have asserted that China Mall has not violated any labor laws because the wages they pay its employees are in line with Ghana's minimum wage.

The government is at blame, not China Mall. The daily minimum salary has been fixed at GHC13.53. 31 days times the amount equals GHC419.43 per month. No labor laws are being violated by them. They are merely taking advantage of lousy leadership and a weak economy.

In this challenging economic climate, the China Mall pays its employees Gh580 per month? The government agreed to pay Gh559 as an NSS allowance, thus they can't say anything. I'm not even going to say anything about teacher pay.

I've previously worked at China Mall. In 2018/19. following SHS We received 300gh every month at that time. Each week, you receive one day off. A working day is every other day. The expense of any damage caused by customers or during work hours is covered by the employee who is on duty. On busy days, all employees are required to put in extra time. We could work from nine until twelve. As if that weren't enough, we occasionally go over to the Chinese managers' home to do things like clean and pack. They primarily ask women to do that for them. What follows for the girls is as follows:

Only God is aware of the cleanup. I'm not sure right now, but back when work was unbearable, you didn't have the right to unwind or take a break even when there was nothing to do. Chinese managers always want to see you working. They'll give you another task once you finish your current one.

The amusing aspect of the situation is that whenever we attend meetings, we parade with our fingers on our lips like young children; you dare not make a comment or voice a concern. You will then get a notice to resign your job. Consequently, you consider the risk before speaking.

One might believe that the Chinese bosses are the issue. But no, our colleagues black supervisors have always received double our pay (600gh). The Chinese promised to take them to China to acquire a talent as a reward for their loyalty. They attacked us, the common people, hard as a result.

supplying the Chinese with horrible, offensive information in an effort to gain their fictitious trust. Our poor black managers were obnoxious, impolite, and haughty. They take advantage of the females and give the men demanding duties in the wake of a woman they fancy.

Unbeknownst to the Chinese managers, one supervisor once gave a worker a letter of termination. Lmao. Working in the China Mall was awful, and I'll stop here. Thank God, things have improved.

580gh? How much would be left over after paying for transportation, food, and clothing? You have someone say that you are a slacker. You are essentially laboring in vain.

The unfortunate reality is that Ghanaians are expected to treat these abusive employers with respect. Despite all the nice treatment, Ghanaian employees would disrespect the manager and steal all your things if this shop belonged to a Ghanaian.

Because there aren't enough employment being produced by the government, which is so tragic, I can't blame the Chinese for using African citizens to further their own goals. If you complain, you'll lose your job.
