On Thursday, August 18, a Canadian-born Kenyan woman who was live-streaming on Facebook drowned in a swimming pool.
Before the tragedy, Hellen Wendy, who according to her Facebook profile worked as a nurse in Toronto, Ontario, was having fun talking with her followers.
While recording on her phone, Wendy began swimming. She continued to dive into the pool, holding her face below for a few seconds before swimming back to view the live video's remarks.
Before an anonymous person recognized that she had passed away after the video had been recorded for three hours, it had continued to record.
With more people sharing and commenting, the video, which is still available on Tiktok, currently has 148,000 views and over 6,800 comments.
