Okyame Kwame, a seasoned Ghanaian rapper and Pan-Africanist, startled many Ghanaians with his most recent admission that he asks his wife's permission before taking money out of their joint account.
The award-winning artist admitted that he is a spendthrift and that his wife has to control him during an interview with TV host Cookie Tee on Joy Prime.
According to the rapper, he used to spend money on a lot of unnecessary things like buying expensive clothes and shoes until his wife seized control of their finances.
His wife was thus left with little choice but to have full control over their joint money account in order to effectively restrain him.
Okyeame Kwame noted that before making any purchases above the budgeted amount, he gets his wife's approval.
He continued by saying that when a litre of gasoline cost 10 Cedis, he used to earn 100 Cedis every week from his wife.
His wife has been giving him weekly chop money for the past ten years and counting, which has aided and bolstered their financial situation.
The "Rap Doctor" counseled his fellow married guys to adopt his plan if they wanted to have financial security and refrain from splurging.
