THE WOMAN FACTOR - ALEXANDRA YAWSON

Dear Students, Cape Coast Technical University.

SRC women's commissioner

As the Women’s Commissioner of CCTU, I want to take a moment to address all of you and emphasize the importance of women’s empowerment in our institution and beyond.

Education is the foundation of empowerment, and it is crucial for both men and women to have equal access to quality education. I encourage every one of you, regardless of your gender, to seize the opportunities available to you and strive for academic excellence. Education opens doors, broadens horizons, and equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in life.

To all the young women out there, I want you to know that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. Never let societal expectations or gender stereotypes limit your aspirations. Believe in your abilities, dream big, and work hard to turn those dreams into reality. Remember that your voice matters and your ideas deserve to be heard.

As the Women’s Commissioner, my role is to ensure that your rights and needs as women are protected and respected within our institution. I am here to provide support, guidance, and a safe space for you to express yourselves. If you face any challenges or encounter gender-based discrimination, do not hesitate to reach out to me or the support services available. Together, we can address these issues and work towards a more inclusive and equitable environment.

I also urge all students to promote gender equality and respect for one another. Treat your classmates with kindness and empathy, regardless of their gender. Encourage and uplift one another, celebrating each other’s achievements. Remember that true empowerment comes when we stand united and support each other’s growth.

In conclusion, I want to emphasize that women’s empowerment is not just a women’s issue; it is a societal issue. By empowering women, we create a better future for everyone. Let us strive for equality, challenge gender norms, and work towards a world where everyone has equal opportunities and rights.

Best wishes,

ALEXANDRA YAWSON
